MagicTrade.dk is a Joomla/Virtuemart web shop based in Denmark that sells cards from the popular Magic The Gathering collections. We did the following customizations:
- Modified a stock template to include a series of rotating header images based on artwork from the Magic card sets.
- Styled the Virtuemart cascading product menu to include icons from each set.
- Streamlined the ordering process to increase conversion.
- Modified the product listing template to include special icons representing the card color and rarity (different rarity icon for each set).
- Created an efficient popup enlargement of the card images on hover over the thumbnail.
- Developed a process to upload CSV files of product information. The client has over 13,000 products available for sale.
- Configured a complex shipping charge process which has varying breaks and requirements based on number of cards ordered and total order value.
- Created a backorder charging process. If the product is not in stock, the customer may order it, but there is a special handling charge. This handling charge can only be added once to each order. If backorder items are removed, the handling charge is automatically removed.
- Tailored a payment process to match requirements from the client's Danish bank.
- Corrected a problem with special characters in the Danish language field translations provided by Virtuemart.
